Dr. Junjie Zhang (China)

Prof. Junjie Zhang, MD, PhD, interventional cardilologist, Professor of Medicine,MD, PhD, serving as Vice President of Nanjing First Hospital. Specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of complex and high-risk coronary heart disease and valvular heat disease, performing more than 300+ PCI and 100+ TAVR & TEER procedures annually.

He has authored more than 80 manuscripts such as the ULTIMATE, DEFINITION and DK-CRUSH clinical trials in high impact, peer reviewed international journals. Main research interest centers on the development of the Double Kissing Crush (DK-CRUSH) technique, which manages patients with complex bifurcation lesions interventionally with long term efficacy, effectively reducing the need for revascularization.

As main contributor of the technique, shared DK-CRUSH internationally including Thailand，Poland, and Malaysia), presenting live demonstrations in over 60 Class-A hospitals and establishing 12 collaboration centers in China.  Has since made DK-CRUSH the first-choice method for complex bifurcation lesion double-stent intervention, in both China and many regions internationally, notably rewriting the 2018 European Myocardial Revascularization Guidelines.
